2008 Audi A3 2.0T Review

A serious threat to the BMW 3-Series

Audi tweaked its entry-level A3 to make it a pretty attractive sporty car. While this hatchback seems rather small from the outside, it offers plenty of room up front and in the back for four people -- five on some occasions. Handling and power will satisfy driving enthusiasts for sure.

City dwellers who spend their weekends out in the country and those who look for a high-quality tourer in a smaller package should seriously consider the A3.
Body color is a huge part of a car's perception.

Cute and convenient
I literally fell for this white beauty. Yet, in grey, it loses most of its visual appeal. The front grille gives the A3 the look of a sporty lady, one who will make others pay for taunting it. I'm telling you: this car has some real bite. The brake lights integrate LED lights for a more substantial appearance.

The four doors combined with the liftgate give the A3 significant versatility. You can bring four of your friends, run errands or go to a ski resort, whichever you have planned. That's why I consider the A3 a very interesting metropolitan vehicle. The cargo opening is low and wide enough to load items easily. The split-folding rear seats offer even more cargo flexibility. There's also a load-through for your skis.

Access to the front seats is made easier thanks to the wide opening angle of the doors. The interior is classy and not flashy at all; there's a modern feel that I found quite pleasant. In addition to soft-touch leather seats, the driver benefits from a good driving position afforded by excellent seat support and control ergonomics. I also appreciated the addition of a digital speedometer.

Visibility toward the front is good thanks to narrow A-pillars, but it gets a bit complicated on each side due to the prominent B-pillars. The mirrors become instrumental to counter lateral blind spots. 2008 Audi A3 2.0T Review from (http://www.auto123.com/en/audi/a3/2008/review?carid=1080600501&artid=95005)

Attention to detail is clearly on display inside the A3.
